What is Paint Protection Film?

Paint Protection Film, also known as PPF, is a multi layered protective plastic that serves as a protective layer for your vehicle’s painted surfaces.

Paint Protection Film is the only product designed to stop the damage that inevitably accumulates on ALL unprotected vehicles while remaining virtually invisible.

Protective Physical Barrier

PPF protects your vehicle by creating a physical barrier between your vehicle’s paint and a world filled with hostile elements. The film is specially engineered to prevent staining, to self heal swirls and abrasions, to prevent damage by dissipating the energy from impacts with road debris and ultimately to be a sacrificial layer under the most extreme conditions.

No other painted finish, coating, chemical, wax, or sealant can replicate the properties or protection capabilities of paint protection film. If protecting your paint from damage is important to you, there is no alternative.

Multi Layer Construction

The highest quality films in the PPF industry are constructed of 3 layers. Those being an adhesive layer, urethane and a self healing, chemically stable, topcoat. This tri-layer construction is more expensive to produce and more challenging to install than the traditional non-top coated films, but the difference in appearance, longevity, durability, and performance is worth every penny.

Top Layer: Elastomeric Polymer

The outer layer is a low energy, self healing, top coat. When heat is applied to the surface via sunlight or hot water, the low energy coating allows the film to expand slightly, returning to its original shape thus "Healing" minor scratches and swirls. This layer is credited with enabling your vehicle to maintain that "Like New Look" for years both because of its self healing properties and its stain resistance.

Middle Layer: Polyurethane

The middle layer is the thickest part of PPF, the polyurethane layer. This layer has one job. Absorb impacts from rocks, salt and road debris to avoid damage to the painted surfaces beneath. This layer will cushion the blow, dissipating the energy of an impact, thus avoiding danage. The urethane is also impregnated with a powerful UV inhibitor that ensures the PPF stays crystal clear and doesn't yellow over time due to sun exposure.

Adhesive Layer: Acrylic Adhesive

The base layer consists of the adhesive which is specially formulated to be semi-permanent, pressure sensitive, and has edge seal technology. This industry leading Edge Seal technology, combined with our installation process, enables the film to stay securely on your vehicle as long as you own it. Semi-permanent means that, if for any reason the PPF needs to be removed, it can be without damaging the manufacturers original paint. Pressure sensitive means that during the installation process the film can be lifted and repositioned multiple times in order to get exactly the placement you're looking for without imperfections.

More Than Protection: Satin Finish Film

In addition to protecting your vehicles appearance, PPF can also enhance it. Any vehicles factory gloss paint can be made to look like an exotic satin finish while delivering all the protection and longevity of gloss PPF.

This satin finish film is also invaluable when protecting your manufacturer’s factory satin finishes. It maintains the same appearance as these expensive factory finishes without all the special maintenance requirements giving you the same great look without all the headaches.
