Unlike most PPF installers that either cut the film by hand or use a generic template library, SkipChips maintains a proprietary curated library of patterns. Our customized pattern library is created and modified by our internal team of designers. We do this while making sure each pattern is specifically adapted to our refined installation methodology as well as the specific material we use.

Surface Preparation

Our installation process begins long before any PPF patterns are cut. One of the most important elements of a successful SkipChips installation is making sure the vehicles paint is ready for protection.

Every car receives:

• Complete wash on all protected surfaces

• Surface decontamination

• Automotive clay bar which removes embedded particulates

• Edge preparation to ensure proper adhesion

Currently, XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS is the best all-around film available. It has a 10-year manufacturer warranty against any material defects or failures. XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS also has a self-healing, chemical resistant topcoat. The self-healing layer allows small swirls and abrasions to repair themselves when exposed to heat. This keeps the film looking brand new far longer than other brands. While many brands now offer a similar self-healing topcoat, our experience is that XPEL’s Ultimate Plus preforms best.
